Kazakh Film wins at the Shanghai International Film Festival

The Kazakh film "The Divorce" directed by Daniyar Salamat has won the "Golden Goblet", the main prize at the 26th Shanghai International Film Festival. Amira Omarova, who played the leading role in the film, was awarded the prize for Best Actress, DKnews.kz reports.

The plot of the film unfolds in the steppes in the 1920s. The film addresses themes such as changes in women's marital status and their roles in society.
